"Soloman"
Sonnenblick says that his character Sol is based on his maternal grandpa. If you were going to write a novel, what relative would you use as a character and why? What characteristics would you include?

If I could use a relative for my novel, I would probably use my grandpa too. I would use him because, he is old, smart and nice. He can tell you information and help you or me about things that we had done right or wrong, plus he talks to you in a manner that everyone would probably like. Characteristics that I would probably include would be the appearance of him, the sounds he makes as in heavy breathing, the way he talks, the dialect, and most of all the background that he is in, because the background can tell a lot by their background, as if someone were to be in a nursing home, they would probably be sad. In conlusion, I would use my grandpa and use the above characteristics.
If i wrote a novel the reative I would base it on would be also be based on grandpa. I would pick my grandpa because he bought me and taught me how to ride a four-wheeler. Another reason why is because he teaches me how to make things such as a porch and shed. plus he taught me how to drive his tractor. But my favorite thing is he taught how to shoot a gun. the charcteristics I would put would be his wisdom, strength and his ability to be cool under pressure
That's a hard one. My mind is set on a story I would want to write. If there were any connections beween my family and any of my characters, Memphis would be parallel to my dad. Memphis is a retired buisness man that work voluntary as a news reporter. He would be a small character, but plays a critical role in my story.
If i were to write a novel on a reletive of mine, it would be on my grandmother. I would make it on my grandmother because she is the most fun person ever. Some of the characteristics that i would include are that she is almost 55, she has tattoo's covering both of her arms, and that she is a very bubbly person. She was sick for a while also which reminded me of the book, because they thought that she had emphysema.
I think I would use my grandpa as well. I think elderly people are fun to read/write about because they are funny. All of the things that Soloman says that nobody has said in a while are hilarious. Sonnenblick used Soloman to express his grandfather. I think that backround knowlage comes in handy when writing. My guess is that Sonnenblick has used other charicters in the story to express other people in his life.
If I could use a relative in a novel, i would also use my grandpa. He died when I was only about seven, but from what I remember and what my parents have said about him, I have infered that he is a tough, grumpy old man, but was still loving and cared very much about his family. He was always short tempered and was quick to argue with anyone about anything. He always had his hair cut in a flat top and wore blue jeans every day. He would bring gifts for my sisters and I whenever he visited and loved to carry on long converstions with my sister, who could only say about 20 different words.
If I was writing a novel and could pick any relative to be a character in my book it would have to be my Aunt Kris. She is so similar to me and also really special. Just during this summer we had the Untiedt Reunion and she was dying to be on the committee, but surprisingly her sister got it instead. After that Aunt Kris went off and pouted and it was eventually not a big deal. Also, a few years ago we lost my Grandpa Luke and it was hard on her and everyone else, that reminded me of Sol and when his daughter left except she is still alive. Aunt Kris would be a hilarious character because in person you can be talking to her and she will be on a whole other topic. Also, she is like a big kid even though she is 34 she can be somewhere one moment and the next she could be in a whole different world. Some characteristics Kris would have is that she can be very ornery but always there when you need her. She is very interested in history and loves to read. Finally, even though she may not be as old as Sol or as experienced she is wise to me and can always make people laugh.
