"My Day in Court"

Judge Judy sentences Alex to community service even though she hates "drunk driving". What do you think should happen to "good" kids when they make a big mistake and don't feel badly about what they did? How do you feel about Alex's sentence?

what I think is that if the kid does not have a record he should be let off a little. alex's mistake was very big and not the very best descision, in fact very stuid but he has a clean record and has done nothing bad in his life. I think alez didnt take it very seriously until he learns about the old man he is watching.

I think they should be punished enough to make them feel bad about what they did. I don't think it is right to punish them so bad that they never want to talk to anybody ever again and that they want to go kill themselves. I think this is a good sentence to a sixteen year-old.

The Judicial system is complicated; I can't fully understand it, but a first offence is a lenient one- especially if the offender is under 18. The way he or she feels about the offence effects the sentence more or less. In the case of Alex, the sentence, in my opinion, was unjust. This is because the judge hate drunk-driving and that should not effect the sentence (Sonnenblick, if you are reading this, I'm sorry; I'm just very critical by nature).

I think that "good" kids that good kids that make a big mistake but don't feel badly about what they did should be given another chance to "make it up." I think this because Alex seems like a really good kid with a good grade that plays a guitar, and goes to school, but sometimes a regular kid, even me, can do some bad choices when they have a problem, like how Alex is going through his mom and dad's divorce. I would also like another chance because everone can make a mistake, they may not admit it aloud to everyone, but they know that they did a wrong thing. Second, I feel that Alex's sentence was jus right for him, you may ask why Alex should have gone to the boys school or do community service plus boys school, but I think that Alex doing a community service project for Solomon Lewis was a great idea. Alex will get to know someone, learn what happens when you do something bad so he doesn't do it again, and so he doesn't go to a boy's school for something that a good kid did bad. This is what i think about Alex's sentencing and about how i feel about it.

I think good kids should get the same punshment as a bad kid because, it wouldn'tbe fair that just because someone has better grades and say talks out in class does not get the same punishment as someone with not so good grades. The only time I believe that should happen would if maybe it was a first offense, like if it was they stole for the first time they shouldn't get the same punishment as a hardcore criminal.

I think the line between a "good" kid and a "bad" kid must first be distinguished. If a kid does lots of extra curricular, gets good grades, etc. they should be considered a "good" kid. If a kid does drugs, etc. then they are a bad kid. I think that Alex's sentence is very fair for what he did, after all, all he did was break a lawn gnome.

I think good kids who make a big mistake should have an alternitive to a jail or a court sentence because depending how smart the kid is all your going to do is break them for life they should have a say on their sentence.

I think that when the kid that did the bad thing doesnt feel bad about it, they should get a very good punishment. They may be a good kid in general but if they do something very bad, they should be deffinetly punished for it. I feel very good about Alex's sentence because he did something bad, but he also regreted it and felt bad about it. So somepeople deserve a worse punishment than others.

I think the Judge only gave Alex that punishmet because she is against drunk driving so she wanted to give Alex a horible punishment. Honestly, I believe that if a good kid makes a miskake they should be punished; however their punishment should relate to the mistake that they made.

I think that they should deserve to do some community service but not with old people.I think that they should clean up what they did in the first place.I think that Alex should deserve a different job, because no one would want to take care of a grouchy old guy.
